I figured that the first non-Australian artist I put up here better be good. If you've ever experienced The Mint Chicks, you know I made the right choice.
The New Zealand band are renowned for their impossibly catchy tunes and insane live shows (speaker stack climbing and...chainsaws...). The first band I saw once I was of age, they will always hold a special place in my heart. Their punk/pop/spazz is hard to describe and even harder to get out of your head, not that you'd ever want to. This, their debut release (all 14 minutes of it), always seems to stay at the top of my list of favourite EP's.
Their bass player, Michael, left the band in October 2007 and relocated to Portland in the US but have continued on as a three piece. Though, from all accounts, they have lost nothing in terms of impact, hopefully he returns to the band at some point to deliver the full Mint Chicks experience.
